We We Web Bridge Annual Ladder Competition (2010)


Introduction

In order to encourage more members to play Bridge in We We Web and attract more people who have interest in playing bridge. We decided to hold the competition in We We Web. By considering those bridge beginners can have chances to win the competition, we selected the type of competition that emphasizes on both durability and skills.
 

Competition Style

When you finished a Bridge game in We We Web (either with robot and human), the system will record your result into its duplication system, which will compare your result with other players and obtain the Match Point. The total Match Points will be used to rank players at the end-of-month. The monthly ranking will converted to a Master Point. The one with highest total Master Points in 2010 will be the champion.

The monthly Master Point calculation will be based on the formula:

[Monthly Ranked Player Count] - [Monthly Rank] + 1 + [Monthly Ranking Bonus]

[Monthly Ranking Bonus] is calculated as follows:
First:+30
Second:+25
Third:+20
Fourth to Tenth: +15
Eleventh to Twentieth: +10
Twenty First to Thirtieth: +5

We We Web may held small tournaments irregularly, these tournaments will also gain Master Point.

Competition Qualification

All you need is to be a We We Web member, no extra registration is required to enter the competition. All are free. However, one should note the following terms:

1) Each participant should use one member account for the competition. If you have more than one member account, only the one with the best result will be counted.
2) To have your result ranked in the end of month, you need to finish at least 32 games in that month.
3) A member account need to have at least 6 months' monthly ranking to qualify for the the prize entitlement.
4) The winner must provide a mail address to us, We need to send the prize using surface mail. We do not response for any mail error or damage during the mail process.
5) We have absolute but reasonable right to verify and correct the competition results and disqualify individual participants in order to maintain  the fairness of the competition. Non-exclusive examples are shown as follows:
5.1) A player loses to another player in order to manipulate the overall result;
5.2) A participant uses more than one account to enter the competition in order to gain advantage;
5.3) A player uses game glitch to gain advantage;
5.4) A player leaves game in the middle simply because of playing poor or bad hand;
5.5) A player files a complaint on another player,  which have been justified.
6) The site operators can join the competition. However, to be fair to the other players, in case of an operator won the competition, one should give up the prize and let other players who qualify to win  to get the prize.

Prizes

The top 3 players (Champion, First Runners Up, Second Runners Up), each will get a trophy. If more than one players that have the same rank, the sub-rank will be firstly determined by the number of months they have monthly rankings and then to compare the number of games that they played in the last month that they have monthly ranking respectively.

The top fourth to tenth players will receive a souvenir.
